Meet the Artist
Discover the captivating origin stories behind each wildlife portrait and surrealscape. Each piece is meticulously crafted with a blend of rich colors and textured layers, bringing emotion and life to every brushstroke.
While not formally trained in art, I have been painting and crafting since I was 3 years old. I started lessons in watercolor painting at the age of 10 and primarily painted landscapes with natural color palettes. In high school, I took all of the art courses available to me in order to explore different mediums. This is where I developed my love for acrylics as they allowed me to utilize thick layers of paint, creating texture and adding dimension to my work. My AP art concentration was cow portraits, and I went on to create a collection of cow paintings, each with different colors, expressions, and textures. To my delight, most of those paintings sold quickly as people enjoy their vibrancy and folksy-vibe.
My whimsical cow portraits have now morphed into more layered works encompassing different wildlife subjects. This mirrors my own metamorphosis from adolescent awe to austere adult reality. Not only does wildlife have to compete with itself through natural selection, but it now must compete with human tampering - industrialization and climate change that causes massive daily extinction of species we will never encounter again. I want to explore these beautiful, emotionally complex animals and bring their stories to life.
In the same vain, through surrealism, I explore the relationship between humanity, nature, and spiritualism.
